Infection Prevention and Control
As healthcare service provider Infection Prevention and Control is one of the highest priorities at Children’s Hospital Karachi (CHK) and we have a zero tolerance approach to healthcare associated infections (HCAIs). Effective infection prevention and control is an essential component of a quality health service. CHK aims to meet the requirements of the infection control assurance framework by:
1. Reducing infection related morbidity and mortality
2. Reducing the cost of patient care by preventing healthcare associated infection
3. Providing a safe working environment for all
The duties of the Infection Control Department and all healthcare workers are clearly outlined in the IPC documentation sections of CHK.
